a walk after irene

eric's work was curtailed the day after hurricane irene hit new hampshire, and we had a beautiful day for a morning walk in weeks woods in gilford. we went looking for a geocache, found it, and along the way saw about 10, 000 million mushrooms of lots of varieties. please excuse my writing as i've been hanging out with the two hooligans, pictured below, since 7am and have only the brainpower to keep them alive, safe, and away from tearing apart a certain cuddly bear that neither gives a hoot about unless it's in the arms of the other. anyway, i love mushrooms. some of the pictures are crappy, but i wanted to show how many there were!

look at where the little one grew out. they are soooo cool! a lot of these had grown that morning and we could see where they pushed through lots of wet dead leaves.

i think there are more pictures...but i'll have to put them in the next batch.
