zoey's "first" trip to the ocean
although zoey has been to the ocean many times before, this was the first time she could walk, and go into the water a bit by herself. she was timid of the waves...i was a bit surprised at this. she's a two year old now, almost by the book does she act...
i was my usual anal self, regarding sand mostly...i can't stand a grain of sand or more in my mouth, so of course, i assume everyone else is the same. egocentric? a little!!!
while eric was playing with zoey down by the water i "set up" her snack/rest/warm up area with much thought and worry of course. with his herculean strength in full splendor, eric dragged the stroller across feet of thick sand to our squatting area. it was used as our hauling cart, but also would be a good place to have zoey hang out. because GOD FORBID she get sand where it "shouldn't be"...which to me is, on your body anywhere, and especially in the eyes or mouth.
those of you who know me even a little are thinking, "huh!?" because i LOVE the beach, sand, water, getting messy...and as my mom remembers i even used to come out of the water then wallow in the sand like a dog on a smelly rug. still, i have issues with sand, at the innapropriate times, like when you are eating.
so, to warm her up, we bundled zoey in a towel, pinned her into her stroller, and gave her some food. she liked that. i did too because i always feel more relaxed when she's happy AND contained.
it was a lovely time, i want to do it again soon!

rockabyebaby
zoey is a singing bird at the dinner table almost every night...lately she likes to sing/yell "rock a bye baby". this was the first time she "ate" corn on the cob too...but she just played with it, as she almost always does with vegetables and fruit.
