tidbits

i've started writing things down as they happen because i can never remember them when i want to write them. so here are some fun zoey instances:

. every day at dinner i ask zoey to tell daddy what she/we did "today" or where we went or what we saw etc. one night eric asked zoey, "and what did you do at the park?" and zoey answered, "park car". then she follwed it up with "side" which means "slide" of course.

. i crack up EVERY time i see zoey reading while i'm driving. she's always so serious and really looks like she's reading, even if the book is upside down. the other day we were listening to music and she was reading, the song ended with kids sing/shouting "river flow!" and zoey, without looking up or missing a beat said, "river flow" with no expression on her face and just kept reading.

. zoey recently had the pukes as you may have known...no other symptoms, just puking. every time she sneezes i say, "God bless you." because it just seems right, even though i don't think her soul escapes. so she says it to herself when she sneezes too and it comes out "odd blessyou. zoey". when she puked, she would say through sputters and heaving, "odd bless...odd bl........odd bless you.....zo" and that's all she would get out. so pathetic and sad, my poor sweet monchichi. by the way, sometimes she calls me mommychi. she would also try to say, while puking and coughing, "zoey coughing?". she feels compelled to narrate parts of her life.

she was really sitting "in" this bucket in another place in the kitchen and i asked her to do it again so i could take her picture. she happily obliged.

everyday life

delicious rice soup

in the bowl is rice, with a teeny tiny bit of vegetable broth...not even enough to fill half her baby spoon, but she sucked it out of that rice.

like the corners of my mind

since this was taken (about a month ago) she has become a bit more independent. this is from the stage when i couldn't go to the bathroom without her whining at the door...or, as you can see, playing at the door. so this is what i saw when i opened it up. (i told her to stay while i went and got the camera).

she stoll henry's hat, and henry graciously (and surprisingly) let her wear it. very sweet.

sometimes they play together.

first warm day back in march

the snow has melted for good, i can put all of zoey's hair into pony tails, and she's talking in 4 word sentences! things are changing fast, although faster here as i haven't updated in forever it seems. for instance...today my mom said, "are you giving zoey a B-A-T-H tonight?" spelling it out, after which zoey said, "bathtime, bathtime, bathtime." of course, only i, and the people around her the most, could understand what she said, but we were a little freaked out that she could tell what we were spelling. i'm certain she just know's when we say the letters for bath, it means bath because we often ask her right after if she wants to take one. is that spelling? ha.

i feel like i should be writing so much more about munchy, but just can't remember everything when it comes time...
