grandpa pop and grandma deb

i'm a bit behind as usual, but we've been busy. summer really is busier than winter, and zoey really is more demanding lately. or so it seems. anyway, on june 13th, we headed to nh with mimi, and uncle isaac for sant bani school's graduation and visits. we visited pop and deb first, where zoey got her first birthday present and first bite of cake ever. she loved both. she continues to enjoy tissue paper more than most anything on earth, but we had to take it away because she started to eat it. also, much enjoyed, was zoey's first piece of watermelon.

we had a picnic in the park (deb brought delicious fixings for facon bacon lettuce and tomato sandwiches) on a great day. if only the visit wasn't so short. cest la vie.

munchita's top teeth have finally both broken through. she's sleeping a little better, up every three instead of 1 or 2 hours...most times. right after the first top tooth came through, she kept clenching her jaw and making the face that i tried to capture below. i succeeded in getting the best expression in the last photo. she made me laugh a lot that day.

Attack things with her mouth with the intensity of a starving piranha (yesterday it was a balloon – while I carefully watched)

zoey LOVES mimi. she was so much fun to have for a visit. she played with zoey a lot and encourage her very first step! it was cool.

zoey's first birthday is quickly approaching. on that day, i plan to take her for her first professional photo shoot at jc penney's or maybe target. you know, a real classy session. it should be fun actually because she's so super social.

she will take anyone's finger, if that finger will take her walking at high speeds. taking two toys in her hands and standing next to something is becoming old hat. she has actually taken two steps at once on her own! we put her on this red bouncy ball and she sits on it bouncing, then stands up and pushes off VERY cautiously.

she's fallen many many times recently, mostly due to her drive to run, when she can barely stand on her own, and sometimes due to our tired stupid clutzisms.

she says mama and dada but mostly dada with intent. escaping the changing table, and diapers is driving eric and i crazy.

zoey still doesn't sleep very well, waking up almost every two hours. i always think she's going through a growth spurt, i'm trying to feed her more food because she still wants the mama milk all night. grrrr. i'm trying to "cherish these times"

and now she's up from her nap. at least it was a good one.

i have to catch up! zoey is now almost walking. she took an official step and fell down. she can walk holding our hand with just one of her hands, while her other hand holds something else, like the rubber bumper we put on the table to keep her from poking out her eye.
right now she is crying and should be asleep but she's mad. she's got two top teeth, although they are still not quite all out yet. she's getting more and more upset without the mommy milk, so i should go....more later i guess.

zoey is 11 months old now. she's quickly heading toward walking on her own.
she's outgrowing some of the first shoes i bought her. she doesn't want to be held, unless it's the middle of the night. she laughs without being tickled, especially at cousin kohle. she wants to put ebony the cat's tail in her mouth and sometimes she almost does. she says dada and means it. recently, screeching has become a favorite activity of the munch. oh, and we've become vegan.
