zoey's and kohle's birthday event

she put on the hat herself, i added the second one

sophia sitting in her daddy's lap

zoey wanted lots of water "herself" and liked wearing larissa's (4 year old sized) shoes around for an hour

one of the twins (i never see luca or kirpal long enough to tell them apart) and old friends jyoti and alicia stopping their conversation to oblige me

cupcakes! left to right, brayden, essie, henry, zoey, angel, sohani, one of the twins, and a little girl who was kohles friend and who's name i do not know

zoey doesn't smile much when there are people to watch and things happening...sometimes it worries me, but i think she's just an observer. she was very tired and hot at this point. it was in the high 80s and we had been partying for about three hours.

cool pinata and jason

the kids wanted to get all the candy inside. zoey wanted to wear part of it as a hat.

sometime after daddy gave her this little toy from the pinata, she switched it for a sour gumball, which she carried around forever, until i opened it thinking she wouldn't like the sour taste and would throw it away. she liked the sour taste and carried it around, licking it for longer...

zoey kept taking rests on this blanket toward the end of the party

she loves this mr. potato head from titi and family (eric's sister) and wanted to open it. we repeatedly told her she needed special scissors that were at home to open it. thanks d.j. for thinking of that one! ( the party was at christen's house)

can i want

ps: she just woke up, and is saying "can i want mommy milk." she's trying to ask nicely, what a good girl. and yes, she's still nursing, avidly when it comes to sleeping, or going to sleep, and sometimes in between. i'm trying to get her to eat more food food during the day, but it takes so much effort and work on my part. i know, that's what i signed up for. :)

monster face

she was so proud she dressed herself (through the neck of the dress, over her pajamas)

the basket

zoey walked over to me with this face. i asked her, "what are you doing" and she said, "my monster face." hahahaha

lately zoey has been hilarious and evil. well, not evil...in the grand scheme of things. she's hitting that "terrible two" stage, but not at a super high level, so we're doing pretty well with it. getting her to go places, or leave places is still very hard. i've been using bribes. she's very in love with gummi bears or gummi bunnies (of the vegan sort, meaning without gelatin). she's been having more trouble than usual getting to sleep, but we had a great long weekend in nh recently and i think that has something to do with it. also, i'm pretty sure she's getting her two year molars, and they're the most painful teeth yet.

i haven't been updating the blog as much as usual because 1. she will climb in my lap and over the keyboard still, no matter how i try to get her interested in something else. well, tv works, but i'm trying not to use that every day. it's hard not to because it keeps her attention so well! and 2. because my lower back is still totally messed up, inflammed, who knows. the chiropractor says i'm "moving well" which means my bones are doing fine, but my muscles are not happy. i'm going to see a masseus as soon as i can to see if they can do something. meanwhile, sitting is not fun. it's due to an equation like this: zoey getting heavier, zoey getting more stubborn, me having to lift her up while she kicks and screams, me not going to the gym at all because she has stranger anxiety and wouldn't stop crying when left at the childcare area (she's getting a lot better with the anxiety though, but now that my back is messed up i can't work out...) it's a crazy cycle.

meanwhile, she's speaking in almost full sentences, and is being a good girl when following my constant nagging to say, "please may i have ____" instead of ,"i want _______!"

she's said, "i love you mommy, and i love you daddy" at different times and without any prompting. what a sweetie.

hello brayden

what she said was, "is my monster face"

i can't help taking all these pictures of the munch! i can't help but post them for you to see. isaac says enough already...i'm trying not to care, but silently hope i'm not completely insane. zoey is being an evil toddler lately, but for an evil toddler, she's still angelic. what a good girl. i hope i'm good for her! i always worry i'm not saying the right thing or that i'm saying the wrong thing. then i think how pathetic it is that i'm worrying about these things, because i don't even have to get up and go to an office, or a construction site, or a school every morning. i get to do whatever i want, sort of. cest la vie.
