another laughing fit, courtesy of lack of sleep and daddy with a green tasmanian devil stuffed animal he won out of a machine at weirs beach, and of course his great noises.

eat
zoey eats cheerios now. i'm sorry i've been slacking on the blog. i'm just not inspired. i need spring or summer to be here pronto! anyway, she picks everything else up and puts it in her mouth, but i had to move her hand to pick up the cheerio and put it in her mouth myself. crazy kid. she's got it down pretty well now, after three days! she can even take it from her right hand, with her left hand, to get it in her mouth. she does still put her hand in her mouth and chew thinking the cheerio that was on it when she slapped it on her tray is still on there and hasn't fallen down into her seat. although i may seem unenthusiastic i think it's super amazing and cool to watch her eat them.

zoey is feeling much better now, has barely coughed today and had no boogie explosions today. yay! she is sleeping better again too. not great, but better. she likes to sit in her highchair in front of the window that faces a busy road (for the suburbs) and watch cars during "rush hour" sometimes. this is convenient because it's usually around this time that she is bored with me and i'm tired and trying to make dinner. sunday evenings are sleepy. she decided to take a quick nap for 20 minutes at 5pm. i really hope this doesn't keep her from going to sleep around 7 as usual. i'm tired. what's new? i'm more tired than usual, but it's okay. i'm bored of my words...

sicko
the munch is sick. she has a terrible cough and a very snotty nose. last night she cried like she used to when she was newborn, without stopping! i think the more she cried the more her throat hurt. i spent from 1:15 until 2:15 walking around the basement showing her the cats and other such things like the washer/dryer, old beer tap, snow shovel...etc. bottle didn't work, nursing was out of the question and made her very angry if i even tried, in fact when i walked back into our rooms from the basement she would get upset. finally, it was four hours after the last dose and i gave her some tylenol hoping it would help any throat pain or whatever...eric held her, standing up because sitting wouldn't do of course, and spent about 1/2 an hour looking at, counting, singing about and poking the penguins on the curtain. he sang to her over and over until she fell asleep sitting up in his arms...and we did the transfer to me for nursing her to sleep. it only took three tries ha! today she is taking a marathon nap thank GOD! in fact i mean to check on her soon because it's been about 3 hours and i'm sort of worried.
she has had more cranky moments and is much more quick to have a tantrum (straighten out and squinch the eyes while crying loudly) when something doesn't go her way, but i have to say, she's still her sweet happy self, finding smiles everywhere.

bountifully barfing baby beautiful botanical booty
so, we found out that zoey was not physically ill because of the vaccines/tylenol/bouncing in the backpack combo a few weeks ago. the culprit is gerber organic barley cereal. i fed her some before he nap on saturday and after she woke up she proceeded to imitate the girl i always hear about "spitting pea soup" in the exorcist movie. i was traumatized. she was woozy, but not necessarily bothered by it. eric was worried as well. poor munch. at least we know where it comes from now. sort of. how bizarre.
anyway, by afternoon, when the Godparents arrived on a visit from NH, she was on her way to recovery and was fine once we left the house on a trip to the botanical garden in providence. zoey likes to watch the koi fish. we like the humid heat this time of year. as usual, scott made her laugh and kristin made her cuddly. after that we headed to the carousel where i SWEAR zoey said "yeeha!" or at least squealed in the same tone and sounds. she loved it. i'm so happy because, at least until she's tall enough to ride roller coasters, i have a merry-go-round partner and won't feel so silly going on them alone.
