since i'm now part me again, instead of me&zoey, i'm going to write a blog of my random thoughts...like a journal online that i want people to read and mainly laugh at. i like to make people laugh. so, here is the link to my new blog (i'm still working on getting a picture album of zoey up online too).

WARNING: this new blog is NOT FOR KIDS! i may swear. there is already a music video up that has swears. kids wouldn't like it anyway, cause i talk about adult (and i don't mean "adult" in the way that special icky movies or magazines do) or other issues kids won't care about and probably shouldn't think about anyways. i may talk about rainbows and ponies though, frequently, so beware of that too.

stay tuned
my sweet baby girl is three years old. i'm just a little late on the update, as she turned 3 on july 3rd. i think i may just start posting pictures somewhere...somewhere where i can upload more than a few at a time. this working thing really cuts into my time! then there's the lunch preparation and actually doing the dishes right after dinner. perhaps i just need time to adjust still, and will come back to it, but until then, sorry for the limited posts. stay tuned :)

sad
i realize the grass is always greener, but i really do miss being "me and zoey" today. i used to get so stressed being with her all day long...well not stressed, but frazzled more. now i only see her a couple hours a day, and most of that time is getting ready for/going to bed. i greatly admire parents who have had to work since their kid was young...although i'm thinking now, that it's easier to have them at daycare from early on, so you never get used to the sweetness that occurs on a daily basis when you're able to stay home with your baby all the time...
once again i'm trying to slam on the brakes of time AND wishing for time to speed up because of things like poopy underpants and the "terrible threes".
remember when? i'm happy i took so many pictures of my little peach. it makes me feel really proud of what a big girl she is now.

things
things continue to go smoothly for us, at new job, at new school (yes it's preschool, she's not in kindergarten yet!). i'm sorry i have no pictures to put up right now as i'm at work and left the photos at home in our computer cluster that is dad's living room. we have been using dad's kitchen since my mom is visiting and there's more room for us all to eat and conviene (sp?)downstairs.
my mom has been staying home with zoey twice a week, and next week, we will have a whole week vacation with her all together at the lake in nh thanks to some old friends with a beautiful house.
in news:
zoey had a cold, after our weeklong annual camping trip at hermit island, which was loverly. i got sick short after, then my mom caught it, and she's still recovering. meanwhile, zoey woke up this morning with sniffles and cough. NO!!!!!
zoey was bitten by a deer tick when we were camping, and we're waiting to see if any signs of lyme show up, but so far so good. it's scary and has me pretty stressed out, when i remember to think about it. the tick has been tested, and i'm waiting for the doctor to call back today. she said even if the tick is positive for lyme zoey might not have it. also, if the tick tests negative, zoey could have it. so, i ask you, why test the tick!? what the heck. no one knows anything!
in GOOD news, zoey is wearing undies now and going in the potty regularly! she did well for a few days, and has had some rocky days recently, with lots of what they call "accidents". only one really messy one that had me cringing. ewwwwww. her butt looks SOOOOO CUTE in those little training underwears that gerber makes. in addition to "being a big girl" she has regressed to baby talk...i'm sure this is all normal right?...and likes to say, "mama, ma-ma" just like one of those really annoying baby dolls that "talks". it drives me nuts, and i have to try really hard to be supportive and give her "baby love". a lot of it started after we spent a week with sophia, who doesn't quite talk in sentences yet. i made sure i paid a lot of attention to zoey as well as sophia on our trip, but apparently, any attention directed at other kids is not allowed by zoey. they were pretty sweet together though. zoey kept saying sweetly, while putting her arm around sophie's shoulder "it's okay, your mama will be right back". so cute.
i guess that is all for now.

first day
yesterday i said, "why don't you lick Super Why with the puppet", to zoey, in a desperate attempt to get some personal space. today i talked about "localizing assets to their language and making a file for supporting documents and guidelines". both conversations felt normal, but the later was from a deep part of my brain that got left behind 3 years ago.
yesterday i woke up to the girl wanting to leave our bedroom to "eat dinner" at 6am, as usual. after i gave in to her screams of "i don't want to change my diaper change!!!!", she ran and i stumbled to the kitchen where our daily what-for-breakfast decision ensued. toas with "JUST HONEY!" was decided upon after viewing of fridge contents, discussion of letting cold air out which results in rotten food, and explaining that we don't east JUST VEGANAISE for breakfast. then there was much talk about eating over the plate, drinking milk or juice, keeping cup away from elbows, who eats which vitamins, and not rubbing hair out of the face with honey covered hands. somewhere in there i ate cereal and cleaned up (a little). then onto the argument of getting dressed to leave the house which lasts twice as long as the breakfast event, and includes numerous requests for tv watching and story reading, and the running of the cats and zoey from each other.
today, we had to squeeze this into an hour. this is the difference between me working, and me not working.
thankfully, she LOVES school and even took a nap! i am enjoying reviving my brain from its long, lovely trip. i look forward to getting a computer so i can do something more useful than write stories of our first day. although, i'm glad to have it in the blog bank.

news
a few new things are happening in our lives lately...
1. i'm going to work this wednesday, full time although i get out early on fridays so that's nice.
2. zoey will be going to daycare, or "school" as we call it around here, starting wednesday as well. she's very excited about it, and has her dora lunch box and hello kitty thermos ready to go.
3. zoey put her head under water, repeatedly, for the first time today! we were at a wading pool in a state forest that is pretty awesome, aside from being 90 degrees in the water today (i'm guessing, but the thermometer said 100!) she just said down and went under water, and even had her eyes open for most of the time. it reminded me that she indeed will be able to just start using the potty some day. it's like a magic click inside a kid. no matter how much i asked her if she wanted to go under water, or put her underwater myself, she wouldn't do it. then she just decided she could today.

a nice long weekend
tonight zoey held up one of her tub toys and said, "daddy, it's a solitary light."
the other day, when i said i had to check the spinach to see if it was too hot she said, in the manner of a beastie boy, "check it out. check it boyee."
lately:
she MUST do what she decided to do, but will do what i tell her...after she has done what she wanted/decided to do. for instance, after bath she/we brush her teeth every night. tonight she forgot, or didn't want to brush her teeth and started walking to the bedroom, while eric repeated, "time to brush your teeth, don't forget your teeth" a million times. she came around the corner to where i am sitting at the computer (en route to the bedroom from bath time) and looked at me (CUTE, wearing her white bathrobe, hood and all, and with a glistening face) and said, in her, I'm Acting LIke A Grownup voice, "good night mommy, i'm going to bed...after i brush my teeth" and then went back to the bathroom. she will be coming by any minute to go into the bedroom. hehe.
i cut her hair today. it's shorter that ever. it's cute, and hopefully good for summer. she gets heat rash too much. pictures of haircut coming soon.
willful child takes over benevides household. that's our headline lately i think. i'm not sure what's happening, but i think it's a mutiny.

on the highway today
regarding three plastic figures that balance on each other (but not in the car!): zoey, "they keep falling down!!!"
me, "it's because i'm driving they don't balance in the car, wait until we get home and try it on the table."
zoey, "you're not driving right."
me, "it's not me. it's the road. it's bumpy"
zoey, "we need a new car!"

april 2010
a quiet moment with zoey. notice the tea cake in her left hand. eric saw her "reading" (with his old empty glasses frames on) over in her little spot by the window. after a few pages, she took an imaginary bite of the tea cake, and continued reading for about 10 more minutes. heeheehee.
awesome indoor playspace, with rollercoaster. zoey pushed the car up, got in, and rode down shouting "weee!!" at least 12 times.
found in her dress-up bin, after not being worn since halloween. she's not afraid of it anymore. in fact she wore it the entire afternoon.
