the rest of june

this is one of the funniest pictures ever. i love it because it looks like she's trying to look crazy.

twins

uncle roger was determined to get zoey to walk on her own this evening. she had taken a couple steps here and there, but with the aid of a "security camera strap" she walked "on her own" for a few steps. i try this at home now and again, but the jig is up...she knows i'm trying to trick her into learning.

first popsicle at avo's yardsale

g-booty. she's part ostrich actually

her hair is kind of stripped now. it definitely has strawberry blond running through it, especially when she's in the sun. i love that bib! blayne made it.

she found the start button in about 15 seconds...but batteries were dead. however, the horn worked. nice belly. she's working on her hick status.

below is a series we might sell to the celtics product endorsement devision called
"how to choke on peepee pool water and look pretty doing it"

tada! accomplished poll dancer. i REALLY wish we had a poll in the living room - in case i need to do something like use the bathroom or take a mental break by making dinner!

eyes

simile: putting zoey to bed is like going through the southern oracle. have you seen "the neverending story"? a great movie. 85% of the time i put zoey to sleep, i feel like atreyu watching the southern oracles, terrified that their eyes will open, probably thinking he sees them open before they really do, running like hell from their ocular death rays. of course, zoey doesn't shoot deathly rays, literally, but sometimes i feel dead tired if her eyes open and i've been bouncing, rocking, nursing her for 45 minutes!

climber

the other day i turned around and saw this, and freaked out a little,
and said, WAIT don't move!! and ran to get my camera. she got down, then she did it again
and had this hilarious, how the hell did i get here?! look in her eyes.

zoey is part mountain goat. not lion, she's too sweet for that. she kept giving me hugs after her afternoon nap today. then she would climb into and out of my lap. she likes to do laundry with me. she helps by walking around me, holding onto my shirt, knee or finger if she tricks me into letting her, while holding my clean underwear which she periodically inspects, or puts down and picks up again. not always is it underwear, sometimes socks, anything with a drawstring is choice. she likes to climb over my legs or anything she makes sure is in her way.

mimi visits part II

mmm hmmm

happy father's day daddy

hi there

henry

dropping uncle isaac off

well, a lot happened the day we came back from the nh sant bani bash. we dropped off uncle isaac at the ferry back to martha's vinyard, and after driving for about 3 hours, went to avo's house to celebrate father's day and papa's birthday. we had a party with birthday cake and all. and i though, eric is the most awesome dad i've ever known, he really is. he's a much better parent then i am; very calm and loving and level headed. thank God otherwise we'd both being flyng by the seat of our pants like me. he really does everything for zoey, and is selfless in it. also thanked that day was papa, as he is housing our sorry donkeys, and puts up with a lot of extra clutter, noise, and bantering from me. he is a generous soul indeed.

the next day, mimi taught zoey to wave, while sitting on her rocking sheep. i can't remember if i mentioned that zoey took her first real step the first night mimi was here! at this point she took three steps on her own, a record that happened last night.

we miss mimi a lot, and are so happy she can visit as much as she does, and that we are able to visit her as much as we can.

oh, and isn't henry the sweetest? sorry laura, for not getting your full perty face in the picture. but, i had to focus on the action!

she really likes to put ice in her mouth

her lips and hands were cold!

so we went to sant bani school's 35th reunion on june 14th. many old friends and fellow alumni were there on the playing field to watch graduation of this year's seniors and enjoy the loverly weather.

eric pushed zoey around in the stroller, then carried her, walked her, and all that so i could watch the graduation speeches, which was really nice. every time i see sant bani graduations (where each student get their own speech) i'm happy to feel the school continuing on as the safe, challenging, incredible institution of learning i remember it to be. any place that can get me to get a's and b's in school is amazing! www.santbanischool.org (website needs work, but if you're interested, it's okay).

so, zoey finally met her buddy makili who is about 2 weeks younger than her, and we got to meet makili's mom blayne whose blog i've followed since maikili was born. it was great to finally see them in person!
