regarding three plastic figures that balance on each other (but not in the car!): zoey, "they keep falling down!!!"
me, "it's because i'm driving they don't balance in the car, wait until we get home and try it on the table."
zoey, "you're not driving right."
me, "it's not me. it's the road. it's bumpy"
zoey, "we need a new car!"

also in april...a visit

my old dear friend em and her daughter maddy came to newburyport mass to visit grandparents, and i got to visit too! we had a great time playing with maddy and em, eating jelly beans, watching too many cartoons, and taking silly pictures.

a quiet moment with zoey. notice the tea cake in her left hand. eric saw her "reading" (with his old empty glasses frames on) over in her little spot by the window. after a few pages, she took an imaginary bite of the tea cake, and continued reading for about 10 more minutes. heeheehee.

awesome indoor playspace, with rollercoaster. zoey pushed the car up, got in, and rode down shouting "weee!!" at least 12 times.

easter - yes, it's a bit late.

the day before easter we went to an egg hunt at avo's nursing home. it is very weird to think i am so far behind in blogging (even though it doesn't seem that way to me) that a person has passed away since this day happened. avo benevides died, last monday night in her sleep. she was 90 years old and lived a very full life. we will miss her very, very much.

the eggs were REALLY hard to find

zoey waddle-ran around and kept up with the bigger kids very well. she got a lot of eggs, some with little plastic rings, or a parachute toy. we exchanged our vegan candy for the chocolate candy which she graciously gave to papa.
on easter sunday we headed to grandma and pepe's house where grandma had a special easter toy for her (see below) and another egg hunt ensued! this time there was all vegan candy (thanks grandma!) so she got to have lots of good treats. the weather was gorgeous.
