the tournament was awesome. family members and some friends made of teams. almost everyone wore team "uniforms", some were all in orange, some wore fake mullet wigs and tattoo arm stockings, we wore button down shirts and patriotic ties to imitate billy mitchell (who is apparently a god in the world of old school video arcade game tournaments that actually exist, please look up the film "the king of kong" which we watched on netflix to see the most awesomest of awesome movies. billy mitchell was first sighted (by me) on the cover of the weirs times as playing the first perfect game of pacman, at funspot which is a nerd-mecca and super fun place too!)
the professional organization of the event was so flawless, some believed the scorecards was actually created by funspot. scott and kristin did an excellent job and scott especially facilitated with great authority while handing out the allotted tokens, synchronizing the entering of the last quarter into the slot to get 8 people in a heat racing at the same time in a car racing game, and giving directions to different events, like skiball, can alley, and air hockey. of course, pacman was played. there were prizes. we won m&ms in a funspot cup. yes!!! ribbons were awarded, especially to the kids, all who did a stellar job at dealing with the crazy, sensory input overload of the fun spot, while playing like champs.
artsy fartsy funspot
