finally, some snow, lots of snow

sorry, it's been a while. lots has been happening. mostly christmas stuff. i'm enjoying crafting in the few minutes i get in between zoey duty. i still enjoy waking up to see her every morning, although it takes me a while and i have to put her in her excersaucer while i eat cereal. i try to talk happy and chipper in baby friendly language at 8am, but it just comes out scratchy and forced. so, we enjoy some silence. i love her so much i can't stand it.

so where was i...zoey has recently had her first "accident" with another child. at a la leche meeting she was lying on the floor being changed, when one of the many sweet toddlers running around with various push toys careened toward her head. i think he bumped her because it was read afterwards, but she didn't care at all. she made a funny face when the toy it her, like "what the hell is that!?" she's a trooper. she's learned to sit on her own. she's fallen forward once and wacked her face. she cried a lot, but it wasn't scraped or anything. we keep the boppy around her back when we're not right next to her so that she doesn't get a concussion by flailing backwards. the other day she fell slowly backwards, and ended up sprawled across the pillow looking upside down at the television. bad baby! i don't watch it much, but when i do, she finds a way to see it. she plays more on her own now, so i can get certain things done. by more, i mean longer than 3 minutes, which is nice. her other tooth is still working on coming in. today was a very drooly day.

meanwhile, i try to sell extra chairs and such we bought her and don't need anymore, but no place wants them around here! i'm trying to make a dollar wherever i can. go figure, living rent free and still squeezing by...

she loves to eat velcro now. she looks like she's taste testing it: holds the toy with her left hand, inserts the strap with velcro on it (to attach to her mobile thingy) into her mouth with her right hand, motions like she's tasting wine, takes it out of her mouth and looks at it, then begins the cycle again. funny to me. she also laughs without being prompted which is a really cool gift for us!

in other news, we're looking forward to christmas with family who haven't seen her in a while, and wondering what avo benevides has up her sleeve for her sweet great granddaughter, since she's literally been mentioning, "6 months old at christmas, i buy a nice gift for her!" since the week she was born.

merry merry
